Call for Submissions - The Art Gallery of Peterborough, Stairwell Gallery

The Art Gallery of Peterborough is requesting submissions from artists and curators for the Stairwell. The Stairwell exhibition area is a contemporary art space that was established as an experimental installation site for local and regional emerging multi-disciplinary artists. This gallery, located in the Georgian House wing of the gallery, is a converted two level domestic space suitable for a variety of site-specific installation projects. Projects must be designed specifically for the Stairwell; existing projects will not be considered.

Proposals must include the following:

- A brief, one page description of the proposed project (400 words maximum)

- 10-20 images of related previous work (CDs or slides accepted)

- any special equipment needs

- current CV

When designing your project proposal, please note that all the elements of the space should be considered (ie doors, ceiling height, lighting, stairs, etc.). When describing material and elements, please address in your description their relationship to the overall ideas and concepts in the project.

Exhibitions are scheduled for approximately eight-week periods. Artists' fees are paid according to current CARFAC guidelines.

The Art Gallery of Peterborough is not reponsible for lost of damaged submissions. Please do not submit original slides or artwork. If you would like to have your support material returned, you must enclose a self-addressed envelope with the required postage.

Deadline for submissions: Friday, August 1, 2008 at 5pm
