The MUSE Fine Film Series presents “Atonement” at 4 p.m. at Galaxy Cinemas (320 Water St., Peterborough). Based on Ian McEwen’s novel and directed by Joe Wright, Atonement begins in an English manor house in 1935 and spans several decades capturing its characters at different points in their lives, telling McEwen’s extraordinary story of a young girl’s indiscretion, eventually finding the path to her uncertain atonement, and to an understanding of the power of enduring love.
