Discover Your Clown - an introduction to personal clown workshop with Helen Donnelly.

This is a beginner’s weekend workshop in the art of theatrical clown. Uncover what lurks beneath the surface-- that playful, impish, contrary, curious, tragically delicious YOU! This is not birthday clown, balloon animals or orange wigs, but a chance to discover your hidden (or not so hidden) clown persona and free yourself by using the world’s smallest mask – the clown nose. Learn some basic principles of clown in a safe but challenging workshop.

Friday, April 25th 6-9 pm, Saturday, April 26th 3-7 pm, Sunday, April 27th 1-6 pm 2008. St John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St.Peterborough. Fee: Only $120 (register by April 1st--$100). A graduate of the U of T drama department, Helen Donnelly has performed theatrical clown in Canada, the United States, England, and Brazil for the past twelve years. She toured for two years with Cirque du Soleil, performs with Circus Orange, Zero Gravity and Just For Laughs, Winterfest and Harbourfront Centre. Helen was a professional therapeutic clown with the Hospital for Sick Children and currently works as a therapeutic clown at Bloorview Kids Rehab. When not traveling to perform and teach, she lives in Peterborough, Ontario.
