Breaking Ground: New Plays in Development – selected readings from Welcome Death, a new play by Robert Winslow. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Doors open at 12 noon. Reading begins at 2pm followed by a question & answer session. Peterborough Museum and Archives, Museum Drive, 300 Hunter Street East, Peterborough. Free admission and parking. Limited seating available on a first come, first serve basis. Welcome Death is a murder-mystery inspired by the virtually unknown story of Elizabeth Deyell, a Millbrook woman murdered in 1873 at the age of 27. The Coroner’s inquest was unable to identify who murdered Deyell, and therefore the case has remained unsolved for 135 years. This staged reading is made possible through generous support from the Peterborough Museum and Archives, Black Honey, Trent University, Nexicom, the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Peterborough Community Futures Development Corporation.
