Comedy Benefit for The New Theatre

You are cordially invited to a comedy benefit for The New Theatre at Cassis 211 restaurant (211 Hunter Street) at 7pm on June 2, 2008. Come enjoy a night of old-school comedy featuring local artists, including Matt Gilbert, Kate Story, Stephane Selke, Mike Duguay, The Shrimps, Phil Oakley and Shawn Kazuboski-Houston.

The old brick building at 215 Hunter Street West in the heart of Peterborough's "cafe district" is poised to become a community theatre. For over a decade a group of local theatre artists and business people have been working to make this dream reality. When the project is complete, the doors will be open to a fully equipped, flexible, welcoming and accessible multi-puropse community theatre space.

The New Theatre will help increase public traffic through the district, especially on week nights; creating potential partnerships such as dinner-and-show packages for restaurants and mutual fundraising.

The New Theatre has received building permit from the City of Peterborough and has completed the pre-planning stages. A fundraising team is working to support the next stage of the renovation.

Please come meet the artists, enjoy a wonderful meal, and learn about the New Theatre project. Charitable tax receipts will be issued for any donations contributed.
