To the Members of The Peterborough Arts Umbrella,
As you may or may not have heard, we have been forced to close our doors.
It is a sad loss for the Peterborough arts community and on a personal level it is a tough loss for the many people who have put their heart and soul into the organization.
We had an emergency meeting , open to all members on Thursday April 9th to discuss the current state of the organization and vote on how we should move forward. After much discussion and thoughtful consideration the membership voted to begin the process of shutting the PAU down.
The Board of Directors laid out the current and projected financial situation it became very clear that keeping the doors open any longer would be next to impossible.
Currently we are locked out of our space due to the ongoing dealings with our creditors. This is all part of the normal process of of winding up an organization the size of the PAU. We ask that if you have questions regarding the PAU or equipment that might be inside, please DO NOT CONTACT THE LANDLORD.
We have set up this email account peterboroughartsumbrella@hotmail.com to handle any inquiries you might have. As volunteer board members we will be doing our best to find time to respond to all questions.
It's with a sense of sadness and disappointment that we close the doors at the PAU but we do have a lot of hope for the future of Peterborough's arts community and we hope you all continue to be a part of it.
